COVID Is Still With Us
Over two years from my last post about COVID and almost three years since the lockdown, COVID is responsible for 1.1 million deaths.

Felling Six Trees
In addition to the hemlock tree, there were five alder trees and one maple. The alders grow here like weeds, and as they age, they weaken and break off at the top. The one had already broken and dropped a large piece on my workshop, damaging the roof and ruining the gutter. It had to come done.
What Bird Is That?
I am not a bird watcher, but I am interested in what is living and making its home in and around where we live. We routinely see bald eagles (they have a unique call), eagles, and osprey flying overhead.
I Received My Second Vaccine Shot
After this second shot, however, I did experience some side effects for a day and a half. I received the shot at 1:30 pm on Wednesday and I was fine that evening as well as the next morning, until about 10:00 am. At that time I was having body aches and was cold.
COVID Update
To get a sense of how fast the deaths have increased, when I wrote my first post on March 31st there were much less than 100,000 deaths. In September, only six months later the death count was over 200,000. And now, in March 2021 another six months later that death total is over 520,000.

Living In A Northern Latitude Has It’s Advantages (and Disadvantages)
Our current location in the state of Washington is by far the northern most latitude where I have lived. The changes in sunrises and sunsets and the amount of daylight and darkness varies considerably here, like I have never experienced before.
